Does this nursery look familiar? That’s because if you’re a follower of this blog, you’ve probably seen it before. We started working with this client a few years ago and designed a nursery for her baby girl with a gorgeous floral wall mural. When baby #2 was on the way, we moved most of the items from the first nursery into another room, and created a whole new neutral design for this space.

Neutral nurseries were definitely the top choice of 2021, and it looks like 2022 will be no different. Layered neutrals work so well in a nursery because the room feels calm and serene (something we all need these days). The other benefit of neutrals is that you can always build on them, adding in color with accessories and changing things out over time.

In the original girl’s nursery, this wall had a pink floral wall mural. That got moved into another room, so we replaced it with a softer cloud wall mural instead. We have a balance of cool and warm neutrals in this space, so the gray in the cloud wallpaper fits right in. It’s also a touch whimsical, but still sophisticated. The crib also went into the other room, so we chose a new one from Little Seeds Kids with gold detailing to help warm up the space.

On the other side of the room, there was originally a white lacquer dresser. That moved to the other nursery, so we replaced it with a soft gray modern dresser. This piece is really gorgeous in person! We kept the same glider and ottoman, but replaced the side table with another soft gray piece. The gold wall mirror and acrylic wall shelves stayed from the previous design as well.

One of the best things about this nursery is the high vaulted ceiling! We were able to install an amazing cloud feather chandelier that really makes a statement.
