A few months ago, I was approached by DockATot to create a series of design boards centered around some of their most popular patterns. This board is the one I created for their Carrara Marble pattern—modern and glamorous, but also versatile enough to work for a boy or a girl with almost any style.

I knew I wanted this design to have some glamour, because, why not? I also know I wanted to incorporate teal, which is a color that I feel is exceptionally underused in nursery design, along with hunter green and the like. It’s such a deep and gorgeous jewel tone and I love how it works with the white and gray of the marble, the gold accents and the touches of blush pink.

I ended up choosing a swivel chair instead of a glider for this space because when I came across this teal beauty, I couldn’t resist.

Marble is definitely a trendy pattern, but it’s also so subtle that it’s not likely to go out of style anytime soon. There are certain trends that are just classic, and marble is one of them!
