You’ve probably noticed that scallop nursery decor is having a moment! That means we’re seeing lots of decor and furniture companies selling pieces with this sweet accent. The curved lines help soften a space and give it a cozy, organic feel. Typically a scalloped detail lends itself to a more traditional aesthetic, but it can also be paired with modern pieces for an eclectic look.
1. Neutral Scalloped Chandelier: This neutral linen semi-flush mount chandelier is just darling! The large fluted design gives the light fixture the sweetest scalloped look. The linen adds a little bit of texture and warmth to the piece.
2. Scalloped Storage Baskets: We love a cute storage basket to keep things tidy in the nursery or playroom. These are perfect for blankets, swaddles or easy to grab toys and stuffed animals. If you’re not sure about committing to a larger scalloped piece, these baskets are a simple way to add in just a touch.
3. Scalloped Floor Lamp: We love this elegant scallop floor lamp with a brass base and a super cute petal-like scalloped detail. The natural raffia shade creates and soft warm light and would work so well in a natural nursery.
4. Wood Arch Scalloped Mirror: This neutral arch mirror is the perfect way to add a subtle scallop detail. This would be great over a nursery changing table! It’s a versatile mirror that would work perfectly in a kid’s room or playroom as well.
5. Scalloped Book Ledge: We absolutely love using book ledges in our nursery designs. This natural wood option with a scallop detail adds just a bit of interest. Wall ledges are great for keeping a few beautiful picture books within reach.
6. Scalloped Crib Skirt: If you want a low commitment way to add this detail to your nursery, this scallop crib skirt is adorable. It comes in a few different colors—gender neutral sage green, pink and blue. Crib skirts can be a nice addition to help hide the mechanisms under the crib mattress support.
7. White Scalloped Bookcase: A bookcase can be a great option if you need a bit more storage in your nursery or kid’s room (and who doesn’t?). We love to add a few storage baskets on a bookcase so it’s easy to keep everything organized and makes for much easier cleanup.
8. Blue Scalloped Table Lamp: Sometimes you need a small lamp for your dresser or changing table. This cute mini lamp comes in a handful of colors, but we are crushing on the soft blue and love the way it looks with the natural scalloped shade.
9. Scalloped Wood Side Table: Maybe you remember this sweet natural wood side table from our recent side table roundup. The scallop detail is subtle and we think it’s perfect for next to a glider or as a night stand in a kid’s room.
10. Swell Convertible Crib: We love this charming scallop crib! Its soft, wavy feel was designed to give a subtle nod to ocean ripples. It’s GREENGUARD GOLD certified and easily converts into a toddler bed. While we’re partial to the warm honey-toned wood, it’s also available in beautiful muted blue, sage green, natural wood, and rich dark walnut.
Here’s the scalloped Swell Crib in sage green. The color is so gorgeous and really adds a lot of character to the space. This collection also offers a dresser and small open changing table. I’ve been seeing so many of our clients leaning more toward this style!
If you want to see some scallop detail in action, check out the nursery design above. The nursery is mostly traditional in style with some transitional and modern elements mixed in, like the acrylic changing tray. We layered in the scallop details to bring in some whimsy! You can see the adorable scallop storage baskets, and the dresser has a subtle scallop shape as well. The mirror also has a slight scallop on the top. As you can see, the room isn’t overwhelmed by scallop details, but they add a lot to the space. See all the details from this nursery design here.
