We’ve designed a few nurseries for twins over the years. When you’re expecting twins, the challenge is doubled, and space is typically the biggest issue. Recently, we had the pleasure of designing a nursery for a family expecting twins. The parents wanted a neutral color scheme that would work for both babies and chose to go with light wood cribs, a white dresser, and blackout curtains. Here’s a closer look at the design.

Neutral Nursery Virtual Design for Twins

Faux Sheepskin | Neutral Rug | Natural Wood Crib | Texture Neutral Wallpaper | Bear Art | Ivory Throw Blanket | Blackout Curtains | White Round Side Table | Small Plant | Ivory Glider | Polka Dot Pillow | Stuffed Bear | Wood Wall Shelves | Terracotta Sculpture | X Decor | Gold Round Mirror | White Dresser | Ivory Ceramic Lamp

To add a bit of visual interest to the space, we chose a neutral abstract wallpaper for one of the walls in the nursery. The wallpaper features soft, muted colors that complement the wood cribs and white dresser. It adds texture and depth to the room without being too busy or overwhelming. The wallpaper also provides a great backdrop for the artwork and helps to create a focal point in the space.

The wood cribs in the twins nursery are the centerpiece of the room. We chose a light wood finish that would complement the neutral colors of the space. The wood tone also helps to bring in some warmth. The cribs are identical and are placed side by side, creating a symmetrical look. Because of the space, we had to place them long-wise, but it works! We added simple white crib bedding to keep the overall look light and bright.

A white dresser is a classic addition to any nursery. It’s functional, versatile, and can easily be repurposed in the future. In this case, we chose a white dresser with clean lines and simple hardware. We didn’t have a ton of space, so we looked for a dresser in a specific size (which was a challenge!). We went with white instead of light wood to break up the space since all the furniture is so close together.

Of course, blackout curtains are a must-have in any nursery (as you must know if you’ve been reading this blog). They can be even more important in a nursery for twins since each baby may have different sleeping patterns. In this nursery, we chose simple neutral blackout curtains to keep the overall look subtle and soft.
