At first glance, this stunning room isn’t even a nursery. When you walk into the space, the first thing you see is a gorgeous cozy sofa, a pink ceiling and a wall of built-in storage for shoes and accessories. It feels like any girl’s dream closet and lounge. But then, if you turn around, you’ll see a crib and changing table, children’s books displayed on the wall and bins of toys. This project was truly one of a kind!

How did we end up designing a nursery/closet/lounge? Well, our client had already been using this room as her personal closet and lounge space. She had installed built-ins to house her most prized possessions, but luckily, the room didn’t have much else in it aside from the sofa. So when she found out she was pregnant, it made so much sense to use this room as a nursery! The room itself was right next to the primary bedroom, so it was convenient and was large enough to include a crib and changing table.

This room was pretty much a blank slate—it was all white with dark floors. We wanted to make the space feel cozy and sweet, and our client wanted to make sure she had some pink accents. The ceiling was so high and so large that we knew we needed to take advantage! We had a custom wallpaper made in a soft rose color to really bump up the drama.

The built-in storage that our client already had was white with bronze tone mirrors, so we also wanted to weave in some more bronze tones. The coffee table is also bronze and we chose a changing table with bronze accents as well. To marry the bronze and almost black floors, we chose what we consider the statement piece of the whole room—the rug! The rug has a stunning butterfly pattern in soft colors with little pops of gold and black. It’s truly incredible in person and unbelievably soft.

Acrylic Crib & Wall Ledges in Soft Pink Luxury Nursery

On the crib side of the room, we had a very large white wall and decided to go with an oversize piece of artwork to fill the space. We had the piece fitted with plexiglass (so there is no real glass) and then hired a specialty art installation company to secure the whole thing to the wall on the studs. We also adhered the edges of the piece to the wall—it’s never moving! There is also plenty of space to pull the crib away from the wall when the baby is old enough to stand up in the crib.

Another piece that our client owned was this beautiful mirror—we loved it to much that we decided to keep it in the design. There were no window treatments though, so we had custom blackout drapery made to give her the light protection that a nursery needs. This was quite the challenge though, since we had to make something that fit behind her existing built-in cabinets. But it worked!

We made sure to add decor and accessories to really pull this space together. We chose the books and toys carefully so they made sense in the room, but also felt sophisticated. We just adore how this nursery design came out!
