We’ve been doing so many E-Designs lately and have a lot booked for the future as well. They are so fun to create because it lets us work outside of our normal parameters for different types of families all over the country. This virtual design below is an example of that, and it came out so well!

Black and White Nursery Virtual Design

White Modern Crib | Black Nursery Glider (Custom in black) | Colorful Abstract Rug | Boucle Storage Ottoman | Black Vintage Chandelier | White Sculptural Side Table | Large Sheep Figurine | White Storage Basket | Faux Rubber Tree | Neon Car Art | Blue Crib Blanket | White Velvet Bin

A simple white crib is a great choice for any modern nursery. It provides a clean and sleek look while still being functional (especially since this crib has drawers). We chose a crib with clean lines and no frills to keep the design minimal and modern, but it’s still beautiful and adds to the overall design of the nursery.

We also incorporated black in various elements of the nursery, such as the vintage chandelier and glider. By using black as an accent color, it helps to ground the space and adds a sophisticated touch. Since the base of the room is white, adding black makes the whole room pop with high contrast!

We’ve done a lot of black and white nursery designs in the past, but this one also has a lot of color. The gorgeous abstract rug features various shades of all different colors, which ties in with the neon car artwork above the crib. The neon artwork adds a playful touch to the room and complements the modern design while still feeling fun and whimsical. And because the artwork is all acrylic, it’s safe as well (so long as it’s very securely mounted).

One thing that’s important with a black and white nursery is to make sure there is texture. Layering texture is one of the best ways to bring warmth to a room, even if it’s just black and white. We used a boucle storage ottoman and a sheep figurine to add some texture, and the rug also has a nice cozy texture as well.

The last important piece in this nursery is the window treatments. We always suggest some level of blackout protection in a nursery. If possible, it’s even better to have two layers of window treatments so you have flexibility. In this nursery design, we have custom roman shades in a semi sheer fabric, and blackout curtains layered on top.
