One thing I’ve noticed this year in nursery design trends is that people are leaning into more traditional styles. But I’m not talking Granny traditional, more like elevated traditional with sophisticated and sometimes modern touches. Oh, and Parisian style accents are back! We started getting more and more requests for French and Parisian nursery themes. Typically, they were mostly in softer and pastel tones, like this French Blue Floral Nursery, or this Modern Parisian nursery. But now, earthy colors are being requested more and have merged with the traditional Parisian flair. We love to see it!

One of the first things we love so much about French and Parisian style is that it often includes molding or paneling. In the nursery above, you can see how the wall paneling gives depth and interest to the room! We’ve been seeing virtual nursery design clients opting for paneling instead of wallpaper, or even using both together. The overall color palette of this nursery is neutral, earthy, warm and sophisticated. The metallic accents are in black instead of gold, which really leans into that Parisian feel. Then for a bit of romance, there are some dark red details as well, like the Burgundy Velvet Ottoman and Deep Red Table Lamp.
The crib is white and cane, giving it not only a beautiful shape, but texture as well. To add even more texture, we used a beautiful Carved Wood Dresser as the changing table. The Taupe Blackout Curtains help to frame the window, and they are hung nice and high to add to the grandness of the room. The stunning vintage moody floral artwork over the crib brings that element of romance, and adds contrast with the black background and frame. The two flanking silhouettes are so sweet, and also add to that vintage French feel.
