Black and white nursery decor has definitely been gaining traction in the past year. I’ve been getting so many clients who want to incorporate this high contrast trend! Black and white works great in a nursery because it’s essentially neutral. Almost any other color or pattern can be added in and it will generally coordinate just fine!

This nursery was such a fun one. It was for a client in Los Angeles who wanted their nursery to feel equal parts modern and relaxed. And they had one major request: a black accent wall. They also liked the light wood look of some more Scandinavian style pieces, so we incorporated a little of that look into the space as well.

So, it ended up being a nursery that’s a little bit modern, a little bit bohemian and little bit Scandinavian. I personally love rooms that combine elements from different design styles!

One of the biggest challenges in this room was the layout. There wasn’t a usable closet, so we needed to figure out a way to place the crib, dresser and rocker, but then also have space for clothing storage. An armoire wouldn’t fit, so we ended up choosing a great wood clothing rack that also brought in a bit of that Scandinavian feel. We installed wall shelves above it for extra storage too.

The photos of this black and white nursery will be revealed soon, so stay tuned!
