We love no-fuss and durable rugs for nurseries and playrooms! The neutral trend has been wildly popular in nursery design and we love to see more and more earth tones making their way in as a twist on the light neutral look. Earth tones can be a fun way to add a bit of color, warmth and depth. These richer tones also make it easy to stay gender neutral and they are so versatile that they will work for years to come. 1. Playful Earthy Rug The bold one of the bunch! With a mix of gorgeous earthy tones, this rug features a bold design with a playful checker and a scallop border. This rug is even washable and OEKO-TEX certified, which means that it uses safe materials for your baby.
2. Warm Traditional Rug: This rug has a subtle traditional pattern with warm neutral tones. This rug is a high performance easy-care rug made of recycled single use plastics. We used this one in this Neutral Nursery E-Design. You can see how it warms up a lighter neutral space!
3. Rusty Reversible Rug: This rug is reversible! One side has a warm, almost terracotta blend earth tone, and the other has a darker greenish gray tone. It’s made of a low maintenance cotton and polyester blend and has fun tassels on the sides.
4. Modern Circles Rug: We love this understated camel rug with sand-like zen circles. This rug comes in a lighter neutral tone as well. And it’s also washable!
5. Reversible Cotton Rug: This rug is another double-sided option with charming fringe in 100% cotton. If you’re into the more boho look and wants a lot of texture, this is a great option! One side has a rust brown and the other is a lighter cream with a light sage and rust stripe.
6. Geometric Texture Rug: This is another super durable rug made of handwoven polyester sourced from plastic bottles. This stunning rug has a transitional design and it super versatile. We used this rug in our Neutral and Emerald Green Nursery Design.
7. Earthy Olive Green Rug: We could not leave out a green rug in this earthy mix. Muted greens are growing in popularity and we see more and more green nursery furniture and decor. This is another option that’s washable and made from recycled materials.
8. Washable Relief Rug: This solid color rug is anything but boring! It has a playful tone-on-tone relief design with organic shapes in a dark sand and camel color. This one is washable too, and comes in dark green, beige, and light sage green as well. We’ve used this rug in the beige version in our Twins Neutral Nursery—it’s also super soft!
9. Neutral Checkered Rug: This muted checkered rug is made from certified OEKO-TEX materials and is also washable. We love this for a nursery or a playroom! If you’re looking for a green tone, this rug come in a sage as well, as well as a few other lighter colors.
